For those living in the city of Edo/Tokyo, living creatures were an invaluable, inseparable aspect of daily life. This exhibition will introduce the history and culture of people in Edo/Tokyo and their diverse relationships with living creatures through four structures, centering on materials held by the Museum.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Edo-Tokyo Museum was opened in 1993 and has been in operation for about 30 years. During this time, the museum's facilities and equipment have deteriorated over the years, and the museum will be closed for major renovations, including a complete renewal of equipment and facilities.
