Samurai – Peacekeeping Contributors in Edo Period

Both in Japan and abroad, “samurai” is often used as a keyword to evoke images of Japan. However, the associations with this word may vary, depending on the person. This exhibition reviews the life and work of the samurai “warrior” class in Japan’s Edo Period, the origin point for contemporary impressions of the samurai, to reconsider images of the samurai.

 

Exhibition period: Saturday, September 14 to Monday, November 4, 2019 (public holiday)

Days Closed: Mondays (however, exhibition will be open September 16 and 23, October 14, and November 4), Tuesday September 24, Tuesday October 15

Location: Edo-Tokyo Museum, Special Exhibition Room (1st Floor)
